Pet Odor Removal By Prestige Chem-Dry

Pet Odor Removal

Pet urine in carpeting can be difficult to manage and may affect carpet fibers, padding, and subfloor materials depending on the severity and duration of the issue. ‘s Pet Urine Removal Treatment (P.U.R.T.®) is a professional odor treatment process designed to address pet urine odors in carpets, rugs, and upholstery. P.U.R.T.® is formulated to target odor sources rather than simply covering odors with fragrances.

Facts You Should Know About Pet Urine in Carpeting

Pet urine can penetrate beyond the surface of carpet fibers and may reach the carpet backing, pad, and flooring underneath. In some situations, pets may repeatedly return to the same area, allowing odors to remain over time.

As urine dries, residue and odor-causing compounds can remain in the affected materials. Professional odor treatment services may be recommended depending on the extent of the contamination and the materials involved.

When P.U.R.T.® is applied to affected areas, the treatment is designed to interact with odor-causing compounds associated with pet urine.

How P.U.R.T.® Works

  1. The affected areas are inspected to help determine the source and extent of the odor. The carpet may then be rinsed and extracted to help remove residue and contaminants.
  2. In some situations, sections of carpet may need to be lifted to inspect the underlying materials.*
  3. If necessary, carpet padding may need to be removed and replaced.*
  4. An odor-blocking treatment may be applied to the subfloor when appropriate for the situation.*
  5. P.U.R.T.® may then be applied to affected carpet, backing, tack strips, baseboards, or subfloor areas as needed based on the inspection.*
  6. Following application, the treatment remains in place while the affected areas dry over time.

*Additional charges based on your unique situation may apply for certain restoration-related services. Please call to learn more about P.U.R.T.®.
